Captain Charles Smithasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the importance of increasing the number of qualified specialists of all kinds, whether he will call, as a matter of urgency, for a special report from the University Grants Committee on the immediate needs of the universities.
§ Mr. DaltonThe University Grants Committee presented to my predecessor last January a full report on the financial needs of the universities, and effect has already been given to their recommendations for the current year. They are now engaged on a further survey.
