§ 32. Lieut.-Colonel Hareasked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he is prepared to increase the existing basis of one period of leave in the year to two periods per year for service personnel in Iceland.
§ Mr. StracheyThe complete tour of duty in Iceland, except for a crew, has not exceeded twelve months, with leave before leaving the United Kingdom, and on return. I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to my reply of 10th October when I stated that it was hoped that the withdrawal of the R.A.F. Contingent from Iceland would be completed over the next six months.
§ Lieut.-Colonel HareOn the assumption that all these personnel are not withdrawn from Iceland, will the hon. Gentleman then be prepared to reconsider his reply?
