HC Deb 07 November 1945 vol 415 cc1265-6
31. Viscount Hinchingbrooke

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that airmen, transferred to the United Kingdom by R.A.F., M.E.D.M.E., for Class C release, are being held by No. 2 Wing, R.A.F. Station, Hunsdon, Hertfordshire, pending posting to a home unit; and whether he will give authority to No. 2 Wing to deal with applications for release.

Mr. Strachey

I am glad to announce that we have brought in a new system to ensure that members of the Royal Air Force are able to get to their homes quickly on returning from overseas for Class C release. Applications recommended by overseas commands are now sent to the Air Ministry and, on approval there, the airman is sent direct to the dispersal centre in this country for immediate release.
