§ 43. Sir Gifford Foxasked the Under-Secretary of State for Air if he will issue a table showing the present maximum rates of pension for direct entry officers of the medical, general duties, dental, equipment, accounts, legal and music branches, reaching the substantive rank of flight-lieutenant, squadron-leader, wing-commander and group-captain, respectively, indicating in each case the number of years qualifying service; and a similar table for officers promoted from the ranks pre-September, 1939, and post-September,1939.
§ Mr. StracheyI am circulating a statement in the Official Report.
§ Sir G. FoxWill my hon. Friend study the table and consider whether it is fair that the promoted warrant officer, irrespective of the rank he reaches, should receive only one-third of the pension of the officer who is a direct entry officer?
§ Mr. StracheyWithout expressing an opinion on that, I might say that the table refers only to the past, and not to the new scheme which will be brought in for the postwar Air Force.
