§ 50. Mr. Horabinasked the Minister of Food whether, in view of the shortage of proteins, he is now prepared to release a limited quantity of peanuts for the production of peanut flour for human consumption, instead of animal feeding-stuffs, especially as the process for producing peanut flour for human consumption gives the same quantity of fats as when the residue is used as cattle food.
§ Sir B. SmithNo, Sir. The materials are in short supply, and I am not prepared to divert them from the quotas needed for animal feeding-stuffs.
§ Mr. HorabinIn view of the unsatisfactory nature of the reply, I beg to give notice that I will raise this matter on the Adjournment at the first opportunity.
