asked the Minister of Labour the number of persons registered as conscientious objectors whose pre-registration occupation was that of schoolteacher.

I regret that this information could only be obtained by a considerable amount of research.

Is the Minister prepared to give the figures now, because he invited me last week to put a question on the Order Paper so that he could provide the necessary information?

Mr. Isaacs

With respect, I think I promised the hon. Gentleman that if he would put a question on the Paper I would look at it, and see what was possible. I am not saying that what he has asked for is impossible, but it would require a great deal of research in the Department at a time when we are hard pressed.
