HC Deb 21 March 1945 vol 409 c790
17. Mr. Martin

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any steps have been taken, or are contemplated, for the relief of starvation and malnutrition in the South-Eastern Departments of France where these evils are exceptionally severe.

Mr. Law

I am satisfied that the Allied military authorities are doing all in their power to facilitate the task of the French Government in bringing relief to these areas, the population of which has suffered exceptional hardships owing to the almost total absence of locally produced foodstuffs.
