HC Deb 20 March 1945 vol 409 c637
51. Mr. Stokes

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what discussions are proceeding between the Treasury and industrialist groups in this country with regard to the proposals from Bretton Woods.

Sir J. Anderson

None, Sir.

Mr. Stokes

Is it quite wrong to say that groups of Members of this House, especially the Birmingham group, have been having private conversations with Lord Keynes at the Treasury on this very important subject?

Sir J. Anderson

As a matter of fact, it is quite wrong to say that.

Mr. Stokes

Is the Chancellor also joining the group of unmentionables?
