asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the grievances that led to the strike in Cyprus have now been removed.

Colonel Stanley

I presume the hon. Member is referring to the strike which took place in March of last year. I would refer him to a reply which I gave to a question by the hon. Member for Linlithgow (Mr. Mathers) on 4th October last.

Mr. Sorensen

Do I understand from that reply that no strike is taking place at the present time?

Colonel Stanley

I certainly have not had any information of one.
