HC Deb 14 June 1945 vol 411 cc1771-2
49. Mr. Leach

asked the Minister of Agriculture if his attention has been drawn to the expressed intention of certain hunting interests to secure the importation of foxes from Belgium; and will he give an assurance that the existing prohibition of these animals will not be relaxed for such a purpose.

The Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture (Mr. Donald Scott)

My right hon. Friend is not aware of any proposal to import foxes into Great Britain from Belgium, but the hon. Member can rest assured that my right hon. Friend has no intention of relaxing in any way the present restrictions on their importation.

Sir J. Lamb

Could the right hon. Gentleman consider the export trade as well?

Viscountess Astor

Could my hon. Friend ask the hon. Member from where he got this story, because it sounds to me like so many other Socialist stories?
