HC Deb 31 January 1945 vol 407 cc1437-8
23. Sir Percy Harris

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs how many appointments the British Government have made to the German Control Commission, and who have been appointed.

Mr. Law

The establishment of the British element of the Control Commission for Germany is based on agreement with our Allies on the work involved. It would not be in the public interest to make a detailed statement on this planning. I may say, however, that the civil and military Deputy Commissioners now in charge of the British element are respectively Mr. I. Kirkpatrick and Major-General S. Kirby.
