HC Deb 31 January 1945 vol 407 c1437
22. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to what extent the Governments of the United Nations have reached agreement on common policy and procedure respecting the administration of conquered enemy territories, treatment of German peoples, utilisation of enemy industrial plant and resources, definition and trial of war criminals and similar issues that arise with the further invasion of Germany.

Mr. Law

I regret I cannot give any information to the hon. Member. Inter-Allied consultation of these matters must necessarily remain secret until the enemy is beaten.

Mr. Sorensen

Surely some kind of agreement exists. At any rate, one should exist. Could the Minister give any indication as to whether there is any disparity in treatment between ourselves and our Allies?

Mr. Law

I know of no such thing, and until the enemy is beaten I do not think any useful purpose would be served by discussing the subject.
