Sir Geoffrey Manderasked the Minister of Town and Country Planning if he is now in a position to give particulars with regard to the areas surveyed by his Department as future national parks; and whether a decision has now been taken to accept the recommendation of the Scott Report to set up an authority in the shape of a national park commission equipped with adequate finance and powers.
§ The Minister of Town and Country Planning (Mr. W. S. Morrison)As my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary informed the hon. Member on the 18th October last, I intend to publish as soon as possible a report on the subject of National Parks. The matter referred to in the second part of the Question will be considered in connection with that report.

§ Mr. MorrisonI cannot name a date; many Departments are concerned in the matter.
§ Mr. LoftusWill there be authority to preserve existing parks and to give them protection, including protection against Government Departments?
