§ 50. Sir P. Hurdasked the Minister of Agriculture what steps are being taken to enable the general public to obtain a more adequate ration of liquid milk.
§ Mr. T. WilliamsThe steps which are being taken by my right hon. Friend are to encourage by all practicable means a further increase in milk production, particularly in the winter months.
§ Sir P. HurdWas the Minister correctly reported as stating that we shall not have a better ration for the general public till 1949?
§ Mr. WilliamsI think my right hon. Friend did not quite make that statement. What he said was that he feared that it might not be possible completely to abolish rationing before 1949. Year by year since 1939 there has been a continued increase in the production of milk.
