HC Deb 17 January 1945 vol 407 c139
13. Colonel Sir Arthur Evans

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if, in view of the urgent need for increased man-power in the fighting forces of the United Nations, he is in a position to report what steps the Allied Governments of the countries which have been freed of the enemy are taking to conscript their quota of men to swell the ranks of the armies of liberation.

Mr. Eden

I can assure my hon. and gallant Friend that the Allied Governments in question are taking all possible steps to this end and that His Majesty's Government are giving such assistance as lies in their power.
