HC Deb 27 February 1945 vol 408 c1208
2. Mr. Pritt

asked the Secretary of State for War what provision is made for Cypriot Servicemen by way of supplying clothing on discharge, medical treatment, pensions and dependants' allowances for those disabled and pensions for the families of those killed on active service.

Sir J. Grigg

On discharge, Cypriot soldiers retain certain items of their Service clothing and are given £2, but an improvement in these arrangements is now being considered. Disability pensions, with family allowances and pensions to families, are provided for members of Cypriot units under conditions similar to those applicable to British troops, but at two-thirds British rates. The cost of medical treatment in cases of attributable disability is borne by the War Department.
