29. Mr. Kirby

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has any statement to make as to the future use of Messrs. Rootes' factory at Speke, Liverpool.

Mr. Dalton

This factory has been leased to the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., and this arrangement will, I believe, make an important contribution to post-war employment and prosperity on Merseyside.

Mr. Kirby

May I ask my right hon. Friend whether he appreciates that the corporation and citizens of Liverpool are very grateful to him for the part he has played in this matter?

Sir Herbert Williams

Will the right hon. Gentleman ask Messrs. Dunlop to increase the supply of rubber teats, which is still very short?
