HC Deb 17 December 1945 vol 417 cc892-3
2. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will yet specify in detail the future of Tullos factory, Aberdeen, the complete use of which is necessary to diminish future unemployment in that city.

Sir S. Cripps

The Board of Trade is at present negotiating with industrialists who have applied for this factory, and it is hoped to make an announcement in the near future.

Mr. Hughes

Is the Minister in a position to say how many workers continue to be employed in this factory?

Sir S. Cripps

Not until the negotiations are completed.

Mr. Hughes

Can the Minister give any assurance that the number of workers who have been employed up to the present will not be decreased?

Sir S. Cripps

Obviously in view of my answer I cannot say anything further at the moment.
