HC Deb 17 December 1945 vol 417 cc909-10
37. Mr. Gooch

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware of the shortage of tyres for vehicles used for the haulage of sugar-beet in North Norfolk; and if he will make the supply available in that area and thus prevent a waste of this valuable crop.

121. Brigadier Medlicott

asked the Minister of War Transport if he is aware of the shortage of motor-lorry tyres in East Anglia; and if he will arrange for additional supplies of such tyres to be made available in that area.

Sir S. Cripps

Yes, Sir, and we are doing our best to direct available supplies to the sugar-beet area, but it would be of material assistance if users could give as much prior notice as possible of their demands to the Regional Tyre Officer.
