§ Mr. T. WilliamsCounty war agricultural executive committees are actively impressing on farmers the importance of rearing more calves both in their own and the national interest. By arrangement with the Ministry of Food calves sent for slaughter which are considered suitable for rearing, and store cattle which would repay further feeding, are kept back and sold for those purposes wherever there are buyers. Where practicable, county committees purchase such calves for rearing on farms in their possession or for allocation to farmers.
