HC Deb 12 December 1945 vol 417 cc395-6
76. Flying-Officer Bowden

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air if he is aware of the conditions of food and accommodation at R.A.F. station, Araxos, C.M.F., particularly with regard to the R. & R. parties in the mountains; and will he take steps to investigate and improve this position.

Mr. Strachey

We have a Royal Air Force re-fuelling party at Araxos, which is on the West coast of Greece. It is rather isolated, but conditions there have been carefully investigated and I do not think that they are now too bad. The unit has been living in tents, but huts are being provided for the winter.
