HC Deb 12 December 1945 vol 417 c380
6. Major Wilkes

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what representations have recently been made by the Greek Government to the British Police Mission and the British Military Mission in Athens regarding the further purging from the army and the police force of proved Fascists and collaborators; and what replies were made to these representations.

Mr. Bevin

No representations have been made by the Greek Government either to the British Military Mission or to the British Police Mission regarding the removal of proved Fascists and collaborators from the Army and Police. Adequate local machinery exists for dealing with any collaborator against whom a case is made out, and neither Mission would oppose the removal of anyone against whom a charge of collaboration has been established.
