asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will consider setting up some central authority for the purpose of bringing about some immediate improvements in the operation of the industrial controls system in the interests of more rapid expansion during the transition period.

No, Sir. We are satisfied that the existing arrangements for keeping industrial controls under review and adapting them to the requirements of the transition are adequate for the purpose.
