§ 26. Mr. W. J. Brownasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the decision of His Majesty's Government to repeal the Trades Disputes and Trade Union Act of 1927, thereby enabling British civil servants to be affiliated with outside trade union bodies, he will give instructions for the removal of the restrictions which have been applied by administrative action to Government employees of the Ceylon Government, which preclude them from belonging to any body having outside members and officers or having any contact with trade unions in Ceylon.
§ Mr. George HallAs soon as the legislation to which my hon. Friend refers has been enacted, I propose to bring it to the attention of the Ceylon Government.
§ Mr. W. J. BrownCannot my right hon. Friend go a bit further than bringing this decision to the notice of the Ceylon Government? Cannot he add a recommendation to them to "go and do likewise''?
