§ 15. Mr. Shurmerasked the Minister of Labour whether, in view of the dangerous and unhealthy conditions in various parts of the city of Birmingham where there still remains piles of rubble, debris and dangerous buildings, he will consider the release of suitable labour or arrange with the War Office for prisoner-of-war labour to be made available to enable the necessary clearances to be effected at the earliest possible date.
§ Mr. IsaacsI will certainly do what I can in this matter, having regard to the many urgent calls on building and civil engineering labour. I have called for a report and will communicate with the hon. Member as soon as I have received further information.
