§ 67. Mr. Gallacherasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he has considered the letter sent to him by the Welfare and Entertainment Committee of the Ivanhoe Hostel, regarding facilities for voting at the next election by provincial building trade workers engaged on war damage repairs in London; and what answer he has made thereto.
§ Mr. H. MorrisonThe matter is receiving consideration but I am not at present in a position to make any statement.
§ Mr. GallacherWill the Minister see that everything is done to provide the utmost facilities for these workers to vote, as these are all good voters?
§ Mr. MorrisonI must not betray any understanding of what "good voter" means, but it is a point of substance and if I can do anything about it I will. We are working under exceedingly difficult conditions regarding electoral registration. However, we are looking into the matter, and if I can do anything I shall be glad.
