HC Deb 28 September 1944 vol 403 cc407-8
35. Mr. James Griffiths

asked the Minister of Health why allowances made to young persons under the Tuberculosis Maintenance Scheme cease after the lapse of six months; and if he will revise the scheme so as to provide for payment continuing whilst the patient is disabled.

Mr. Willink

The general principle of the scheme to which my hon. Friend refers is that allowances are payable to eligible patients, so long as treatment which promises to restore working capacity is continued under the direction of the Tuberculosis Officer. If he will let me have details of any particular case which has given rise to his Question, I shall gladly make enquiries.
