§ 22. Mr. Hyndasked the Minister of Labour what steps the Government is taking in pursuance of the obligations accepted in the Employment (Transition from War to Peace) recommendation of the I.L.O., 1944, towards encouraging the establishment of wage rates based on jab content without regard to sex.
§ Mr. BevinIn accordance with the usual procedure, proposals will be submitted to Parliament in due course with regard to the acceptance or otherwise of the Recommendations adopted by the International Labour Conference at Philadelphia.
§ Mr. HyndIn view of the fact that there is a provision that the recommendations shall be brought before Parliament in twelve months, and, in view of the fact that the Government are only now setting up their Royal Commission on this question, will the report be available for the House within the twelve months, so that we may consider these recommendations?
§ Mr. BevinI am sure the hon. Member will agree that the war situation makes expedition difficult with these international reports, but I will do my best to keep it within the time.
