§ 23. Mr. Austin Hopkinsonasked the Secretary of State for Air whether, when the Air Council expressed its grave displeasure with the senior officers guilty of offences against the food regulations at 54 Group Training Command, Regent's Park, it also expressed its grave displeasure with the members of the Air Council concerned in the same offences.
§ Sir A. SinclairNo member of the Air Council committed an offence. Certain members of Council, of whom I was one, anxious to encourage what appeared in its inception to be a praiseworthy enterprise, bought non-rationed food from the farm. That this was not an offence was confirmed by an inquiry which, at my request, the Ministry of Food made into my own purchases.
