asked the Minister of Labour whether any special instructions have been issued to prevent any further withdrawal of labour from works making such items as wire nails, locks and latches, etc., essential for the repair to property damaged by bombs in the London area.

Mr. Bevin

My Department has made arrangements with the Ministry of Works under which withdrawal is not made in any case in which it is agreed with that Department that withdrawal would cause difficulty in production.

Could my right hon. Friend say when that instruction went out?
