55. Mr. Kendall

asked the Minister of Town and Country Planning in view of the Government's assurance that land will be forthcoming when and where it is needed for all the houses required and that local authorities will have power to acquire land for building purposes, based upon values existing at 3rst March, 1939, what steps are envisaged to ensure that private citizens, who are negotiating for the purchase of land to build their own homes, cannot be charged more than the standard of values of 31st March, 1939.
