HC Deb 17 May 1944 vol 400 cc166-7
35. Mr. Hamrnersley

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies on what grounds the re-publication of a letter appearing in "The Times," on 5th January, 1944, and signed by the hon. Member for East Willesden, has been prohibited by the Palestine censor.

Colonel Stanley

I have no information but I am making inquiry of the High Commissioner for Palestine.

Mr. Hammersley

Can my right hon. and gallant Friend say whether he has received any representation from the Prime Minister as to why his Parliamentary answer to a Question on 30th July, 1941, has also been suppressed by the Palestinian censor? Will he make inquiries into this matter?

Colonel Stanley

I certainly have had no communication from the Prime Minister on that particular subject.
