HC Deb 22 June 1944 vol 401 cc348-9
43. Major Sir Jocelyn Lucas

asked the Secretary of State for War, if his attention has been called to numerous appeals for razors, razor blades, soap, etc., for the wounded at military hospitals; and if, in view of the distress caused to relatives who do not realise that it is the duty of the Government to supply necessities, he will have these appeals discontinued.

The Financial Secretary to the War Office (Mr. Arthur Henderson)

My attention has not been called to the appeals referred to by my hon. and gallant Friend but I am making inquiries. I am not aware that there is any shortage of such supplies in any of the hospitals, but steps are being taken to ensure that these supplies are adequate.
