HC Deb 20 June 1944 vol 401 c16
29. Mr. G. Strauss

asked the Secretary of State for War whether any official representatives of the French resistance movements are attached to the Allied Armies in France to help in dealing with the problems which arise whenever a town or village is liberated.

Sir J. Grigg

I understand that the Supreme Allied Commander has made arrangements to establish the necessary liaison between his staff and the Resistance Movements.

Mr. Strauss

That means that no such liaison has existed up to now?

Sir J. Grigg

No, it does not.

Mr. Strauss

That was the Question I asked—whether any such liaison exists? Has there been any such liaison since the beginning of the Resistance Movement?

Sir J. Grigg

They have been attached in accordance with the arrangements I said have been made.
