§ Mr. AttleeThe figure of £42,000,000 represents the estimated additional annual cost at the present time of giving equal pay to women teachers, civil servants, and members of other Services, for which the Exchequer is financially responsible in whole or in part. The estimate is a very rough one based upon such information as is readily available.
