HC Deb 26 July 1944 vol 402 cc745-6
12. Flight-Lieutenant Teeing

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether it is the present policy that R.A.F. officers of the Administrative and Special Duties Branch should be replaced by officers of the General Duties Branch; and, if so, what steps will be taken to dispose of the administrative and special duties officers thus displaced.

Sir A. Sinclair

Certain administrative posts in the Royal Air Force established for General Duties officers have been filled by officers of the Administrative and Special Duties Branch until such time as General Duties officers are available for the purpose. It is proposed to fill these posts by suitable General Duties officers coming from operations. This will provide a wider range of administrative experience for General Duties officers who will from such experience become better equipped for command and staff appointments. Officers of the Administrative and Special Duties Branch thus displaced will be considered for such other administrative employment at home and overseas as may be available and for which they are suitable and medically fit.
