HC Deb 18 July 1944 vol 402 c29
58. Mr. Manningham-Buller

asked the Secretary of State for Air why a larger number of clothing coupons for uniforms are issued to officers of the R.A.F., including the R.A.F. Regiment, than to Army officers.

The Joint Under-Secretary of State for Air (Captain Harold Balfour)

The explanation of the larger number of clothing coupons issued initially to R.A.F. officers, as compared with Army officers, is that the latter receive their second suit of uniform coupon-free, whereas R.A.F. officers do not.
