HC Deb 12 July 1944 vol 401 c1731
37. Sir C. Edwards

asked the Minister of Pensions whether he has considered the letter from the Clerk of the Risca Council asking that a flat-rate pension, irrespective of means test, should be paid to all parents who have had the misfortune to lose sons or daughters whilst serving in His Majesty's forces; and what was his reply.

The Minister of Pensions (Sir Walter Womersley)

It has not been possible in the time available to trace the letter referred to by my hon. Friend. I would, however, refer him to the Debate on War Pensions on the 7th July in the course of which the Government's policy on a flat-rate pension for parents was fully explained.
