§ Colonel StanleyA loan of£382,000, free of interest in the first instance, was approved in 1942 under the Colonial Development and Welfare Act for the construction of the Mona reservoir to augment the Kingston water supply. A grant of£60,000 under the Act was approved last year for the construction in country districts of tanks for the catchment and storage of rain water. I understand that further plans for the improvement of the island's water supplies are under consideration locally.
§ Mr. SorensenHow far have those plans been implemented?
§ Colonel StanleyI could not say. I know that the practical construction work on the Mona dam has been to some extent held up by difficulties of import.
