HC Deb 12 July 1944 vol 401 c1720
16. Mr. Keeling

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works whether he has any plans for conserving archaeological finds made during rebuilding operations.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works (Mr. Hicks)

This question is receiving careful consideration and it is hoped that with the co-operation of civic authorities and of archaeological societies, the excavation and recording of ancient remains can be carried out.

Mr. Keeling

Will my hon. Friend send me a copy of any suggestions he sends to local authorities on this matter?

Mr. Hicks

I will, with pleasure.
