HC Deb 11 July 1944 vol 401 c1558
3. Mr. E. P. Smith

asked the Secretary of State for War to what extent he has received reports from repatriated British prisoners of war of the German treatment of Russian prisoners of war who have, for a short time, shared their camps; and whether, in view of the proximity of Russian troops to German soil, he will transmit these reports to the Government of the U.S.S.R.

Sir J. Grigg

British prisoners of war are in general confined in camps or compounds separate from those holding Russian prisoners of war and accordingly have little opportunity to obtain first hand information of their treatment. Such information as has been obtained is passed on to the Soviet authorities.
