HC Deb 11 July 1944 vol 401 cc1557-8
16. Mr. Hynd

asked the Secretary of State for War what arrangements are made to ensure that men discharged from hospital are in all cases provided with food and money for the journey to their homes or units.

Sir J. Grigg

Men discharged from military or E.M.S. hospitals are provided with sufficient haversack rations for their journey and are given a small sum of money with which to buy hot drinks.

Mr. Hynd

What is the position in regard to men discharged from Red Cross and other hospitals who are not so provided with either rations or money?

Sir J. Grigg

Perhaps my hon. Friend will put that question down, as I am not able to answer it on the spur of the moment.
