asked the President of the Board of Trade to what extent he has been in consultation with the Ministry of Town and Country Planning in connection with his talks with industrialists about the disposal of war factories, etc.

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given by the Deputy Prime Minister to his Question on this subject on Thursday last. I can assure my hon. Friend that my Department and the Ministry of Town and Country Planning keep in close touch on these matters.

Is it a fact that the Minister of Town and Country Planning will be brought in before any decisions are come to?

Mr. Dalton

The two Departments are in close touch, but we do not want too much delay. I think the Minister would agree with me that the present arrangements are quite satisfactory without too many rigid rules.
