9. Mr. Hewlett

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the attention of His Majesty's Government has been drawn to the recent proposal of the Chilian Government to reduce the rate of interest on Chilian bonds held in this country; and whether His Majesty's representative in Chili will be directed to protest against such a proposal.

The answer to the first part of the Question is in the affirmative. I can assure my hon. Friend that the matter is receiving urgent attention.
