76. Mr. Astorasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has any further statement to make regarding the Report which the Advisory Committee on Education in the Colonies was preparing on the question of the drive against mass illiteracy.
§ Colonel StanleyYes, Sir. The report, under the title of "Mass Education in African Society", has been published by His Majesty's Stationery Office as Colonial No. 186, and copies have been placed in the Library of the House. I have commended the report warmly for the consideration of the Colonial Governments concerned and have asked for their views on the committee's recommendations.
§ Mr. SorensenWill this document also be issued to hon. Members through the Vote Office?
§ Colonel StanleyReally I cannot answer those technical questions without notice. It is certainly available as a Stationery Office publication.
