HC Deb 03 February 1944 vol 396 c1399
58. Mr. Thorne

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he can give any information in connection with the fire at the Heaply Bleach and Dye Works; and how many yards of cloth were lost in the fire.

Mr. H. Morrison

I shall shortly receive a full report on this serious fire. At present I have no details but from the information available it appears to have been satisfactorily handled by the National Fire Service. No information can be given as to the extent of the damage.

Mr. Thorne

Has my right hon. Friend any reason to believe that these premises were deliberately fired?

Mr. Morrison

I have no knowledge to that effect at the moment.
