§ 32. Squadron-Leader Sir Gifford Fox
asked the Secretary of State for Air what percentage of aerodrome sites have been permanently purchased; what additional percentage it is proposed to purchase; and whether it is regarded as an economic proposition to return to agriculture any of those which have been built upon.
§ Sir. A. Sinclair
Approximately 40 per cent. of the airfields in occupation by the R.A.F. have been purchased or are in process of being purchased. The additional number which it will be necessary to purchase is under consideration. As for the last part of the Question, my Department is in consultation in this matter with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and the other Departments concerned.
