HC Deb 02 August 1944 vol 402 c1386
58. Sir William Wayland

asked the Minister of Food if, considering the vital necessity of increasing our exports, he will now, in view of better conditions, permit the export of products containing sugar or made from sugar.

Colonel Llewellin

I regret that the sugar supply outlook does not at present justify a resumption of exports of products containing sugar or made from sugar.

Sir W. Wayland

May I ask my right hon. Friend if he will review the situation again after the Recess, as this is a really important question from the point of view of exports?

Colonel Llewellin

I can assure my hon. Friend that I will keep it under review at all times.
