HC Deb 02 August 1944 vol 402 c1355
Mr. Thorne

I should like to ask, Mr. Speaker, whether you can do anything to help Members and their visitors by making provision for more public seating accommodation on the occasion of important Debates, such as that of to-day.

Mr. Speaker

I do not know whether I can do anything or not. I will see whether more accommodation can be made available but I can promise nothing now, at the last moment.

Mr. A. Edwards

Could not the number of seats reserved for officials be reduced?

Mr. Speaker

On the occasion of an important Debate a great many Ambassadors and others attend for whom seats must be provided. I do not know whether anything can be done.
