§ 25. Mr. Sorensenasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will inquire into the legal position of the land, approximately one mile deep and 200 miles long, along the banks of the River Niger on which the Royal Niger Company had an option and which was transferred to the Government in 1916; whether the Government claims a legal title to the land; and whether compensation has been or is likely to be paid or the land returned to the Southern Nigerian people.
